MODOT to close section of I-29 in both directions


FAUCETT, Mo. - The Missouri Department of Transportation has issued a traffic alert. According to a MODOT press release, I-29 will be closed in both directions between the towns of Dearborn and Faucett for 24 hours on Jan. 24 and 25.

The closure is so that crews can safely demolish the old Route 116 bridge over I-29. The bridge will be closed down on the prior day.

MODOT officials said the I-29 closure will begin at 10 p.m. Friday with plans to reopen at 10 p.m. on Saturday. Drivers are encouraged to follow the detour signs or find an alternate route.
